My boys had a friend spend the night (or two) the other day.
They had a funny conversation. It went like this:
Lawrence: "One day I drank a lot of water and my pee was clear."
Me: "That means that your body is well hydrated."
Lawrence: "Yes. But there's one thing I don't get. After I get done swimming, my pee is clear."
Phyllip: "That's because the water soaks into your body through your spores."
Me: "Phyllip, we don't have spores. We have pores."
Phyllip: "Oh, yeah."
And everyone laughed!

So Much Fun!
Tonight was family night.
It was my turn to choose the activities and I was so excited.I made mexican food with homemade salsa and guacamole and homemade german chocolate cake for dessert. Yum!
Then it was activity time. Blind man's bluff! We played in the house. It was a blast!!! We haven't laughed like that in a long time! And we worked up a sweat playing, too.
Then we played a dice game called Farkle. That was fun, too.
The kids said that was one of the best family night's we've had in a while. I agree!

Between the Boys
The other night the boys were in the kitchen.
Phyllip was cleaning up some spilled chocolate milk.
The conversation went like this:
Tyler: Phyllip, when you grow up your floors are going to be sticky.
Phyllip: That's why I'm going to hire a maid!

"You Don't Look...
old enough to be Lyndsey's mom. You look like her older sister."
That's the compliment I got the other day!
Wow!
Lyndsey's response was, "Gee Mom, I guess all those expensive creams you use on your face are paying off!"
Just for the record, I usually get them on ebay at a discounted price.

It Just Has To Be a Boy Thing!
This morning the boys were supposed to be doing their schoolwork. They were sitting at the table with their books open and pencils in hand but decided to have the following conversation.
Phyllip: Tyler, I dare you to eat a piece of Ruby's (our dog) food.
Tyler: Ok.
Tyler can't bring himself to actually eat the food so he licks it several times instead. Eventually, he put the whole thing in his mouth and spit it out immediately!
Then Tyler decided eating one of Ruby's cookies would be better. He tried it (a chicken flavored one) and said it tasted like Top Ramen, then it tasted like chicken, and then it was gross.
What will they think of next?
When I was growing up, it was only my sister and me. The things these boys do blow my mind! It just has to be a boy thing!!!!!

No Subtilty!
Yesterday, I had the privilege of teaching the preschoolers during Sunday School. The names of the children are AJ and Tamiyah.
Class started and I was talking with Tamiyah when all of a sudden AJ says the following.
AJ: (with absolute seriousness written all over his face) "Girls have hair on their arms?"
Me: "What?"
AJ: "Girls have hair on their arms?!"
Me: (looking at my arms - yes I have a lot of hair on my arms) "Yes, AJ, some girls have hair on their arms."
AJ: "I've never seen a girl with hair on her arms before."
Tamiyah: "Me, neither."
Me: "I guess I got all the hair from my dad. I don't know."
I looked at both of their arms and they didn't have any noticeable hair on their arms. AJ, especially, was completely stunned - almost grossed out by the hair on my arms!
Last night, as I was telling one of the ladies at church this little story, another lady (Erin) came up to me and said, "I could braid the hair on your arms!"
In my own defense I said, "I asked my husband if he wanted me to wax the hair off of my arms and he said NO, so I leave it alone!" *grin, laugh*

The Innocent Little Ones
Walter and I were the teachers in Jr. Church this morning. Almost every time, we have the best time with the kids.
We sang songs, took up an offering, Walter taught the lesson, we reviewed the lesson and then we decided to play games.
One of the games we played is called "Four Corners."
The kids are to move to one of the 4 corners of the room while the person who is "it" counts to 10 with their eyes closed. When "it" gets to 10 they pick a corner. He/She opens his/her eyes and looks to the corner picked to see if there are any kids there. If you are in the corner, then you're out. But we added another rule to the game. If you are in the corner, "it" picks a Bible verse and you have to say it from memory to stay in the game. If you can't say it then you're out.
Which brings me to a little girl names Tamiyah. Tamiyah is one of our bus kids. She's a cute little black girl and she's 5 years old.
She was in the corner I picked this morning. She had a big grin on her face as I looked at her. The conversation is as follows.
Me: "Tamiyah, do you know Genesis 1:1?"
Tamiyah: shakes her head "yes" while smiling
Me: "Say Genesis 1:1."
Tamiyah: "Genesis 1:1."
We all started laughing. This little girl was so precious! She did do what I said, just not what the rules were. Needless to say, her time with the game was over, but we did have a great time!

Knock, Knock!
I've had my 2nd set of children for the last 2 days (Ciarra, Kaylyn, Grace, Liza aka Cuppie). We were all at my house yesterday and the following occurred many times.
My boys' bedroom door was closed and Grace was in their room. Cuppie walked over to the door and knocked on the door. The conversation went like this:
Cuppie: (knocking on the door) Knock, knock!
Me: (in the kitchen watching this unfold) Who's there?
Cuppie: Me (smiling while looking at me)!
Me: Me, who?
Cuppie: Cuppie (or as she says it, Tuppie)!
Lots of giggles followed!

Pictures as Promised!
At the end of this post, I said as soon as I figured out how to move the pictures I would post them.
Voila! I figured it out! And...as promised here are the infamous pictures. Enjoy...because I don't get a chance very often to hold things over this man's head!

What are the Chances?
I was in the grocery store today. I had Phyllip and one of his friends with me. They were behind me. I turned around to ask the boys to get me a cart. I called Phyllip.
An older gentleman was passing by me as I said Phyllip's name. He said, "What?" I looked at him puzzled. Then he says, "My name is Phillip." I started laughing and said, "I'm sorry. I was talking to my son behind you." He said, "I was wondering because I've never seen you before!"
What are the chances of that happening? About 1 in a million?!!!

Not Your Average Flossing!
The kids love to play with Ruby! She happily indulges them about 99% of the time.

I don't know how all of this got started but one day Lyndsey was playing with a rubber band and Ruby at the same time. Ruby decided to bite the rubber band and hence the "flossing" of Ruby's teeth began!
Every time Lyndsey has a rubber band now Ruby loves to have her teeth "flossed." These pictures were taken the other day.

I know it's totally goofy but very funny to watch in person!

Would Somebody Please Tell the Dog Which Ball Is Hers?
Tonight the boys were rolling a tennis ball back and forth across the living room for Phyllip's exercises. Everything was fine and dandy until Ruby got woke up.
You see, Ruby has a tennis ball all her own and it is her favorite (and pretty much only) toy (by her own choosing). Hers just so happens to look not-so-new, uh, kinda like it has had lots of doggie slobber on it. Hers is the one on the right.
She came over and sat by me for a while just watching the boys rolling the ball back and forth. Then all of a sudden, pounce, and she had stolen their ball! This, of course, made us all erupt in laughter.
We found her ball and would throw it so that Phyllip's exercise could continue. But Ruby kept coming back. She thought the ball was hers for the taking! An exercise that should have only taken about 5 minutes ended up taking about 15!

You Won't Believe It!!!
It's been snowing here today!!!!!!! Yes, I said snowing!!!! In the desert southwest!!!! I know you don't believe me so here's the proof!!!
Click on the picture to enlarge it so you can see the white stuff falling for yourself.
It snowed for about 2 hours. Even my husband called me and told me that it was snowing where he was working. I
called Sileena and
told her to look out her windows and she said it was snowing. Pastor didn't believe her until he went outside and saw it for himself.
On to a little something that happened this afternoon. I think this is something that only our two boys could have ever thought up. I don't believe that anyone else would have dreamed this up. So here goes. I was in the bathroom getting ready to leave when my husband got home from work. Little did I know what the boys were doing.

You see this here couch? Up above the couch is where it happened! Take a look at the curtain rod.
I walked into the living room and over to the couch to fix the blinds behind it. I noticed the couch was pushed all the way up against the wall. As I was going to move it forward away from the wall, water started dripping on the couch from the ceiling, or so I thought. My first thought was, "Oh no, another leak in our roof!" However, after looking up towards the ceiling I noticed the curtain rod. Guess what was on it! A large pile of ICE CUBES! Yep, you read right. They were melting and dripping all over my couch! Of course, I was upset. I asked, well maybe screamed, to know how the ice cubes got up on the curtain rod. Phyllip comes running and said, "Oh, we put them up there so we could sit under them and catch the drops of water in our mouths as they melted. We forgot they were there." The ice must not have been melting fast enough and obviously their attention span isn't very long. Now how can a mom stay upset with an explanation like that?! I got the ice cubes down, wiped the water off the couch and went to my bedroom as fast as I could so that I could laugh. It was just too funny to be mad at them!

Here's a picture of the curtain rod where the pile of ice cubes were. There were at least 20 ice cubes! Whatever possessed them to do it, I will never know!
Since it's Valentine's Day, I decided to have some fun with the camera and take pictures of me and my sweetie. Just a couple of the shots.

It snowed for about 2 hours. Even my husband called me and told me that it was snowing where he was working. I
